Congratulations to the following students who have been selected by their team teachers for demonstrating our final national Character Counts trait, “Citizenship”:

A.T.T.I.T.U.D.E- Rosa Romano- Rosa is a kind and considerate student. Part of being a good citizen is being a good neighbor to your classmates, doing your work, and helping your school or community to be a better place. Rosa does all those things. She always walks in to class with a smile on her face that could cheer up anyone. Rosa always gets her work in on time and participates in class. She even found money on the ground and turned it in to the office. What an honest student! Way to go Rosa!

Team Fusion- Andrew Ketterling- Andrew is polite, respectful, and considerate of others. His teachers can always count on him to set a good example for others by doing what is right. He can be depended on to follow classroom rules, be courteous and wait his turn for things, and offer a helping hand to anyone in need. Team Fusion is overjoyed to award Andrew the citizenship nomination!

Trailblazers- Rosie Bernabe- Rosie is hardworking, responsible and is an absolute pleasure to have in class. She is always willing to lend a hand to others, even without being asked. Rosie is a quiet leader who leads by example. She is an extraordinary young woman and her teachers all enjoy having her in their classes. Congratulations, Rosie!

Team Excellence- Samuel Jaimes- Among all his teachers, there was immediate consensus to choose Samuel as the Team Excellence Student of the Month. Samuel demonstrates citizenship by the respect he shows for his teachers and fellow students. He maintains a good attitude and is polite and honest. He contributes to Placerita by doing his best in every class and creating a positive atmosphere. Thank you, Samuel!

Pacesetters- Saie Joshi- Saie is a good citizen in the classroom- she is kind and helpful to those around her in her quiet way. Saie is also a good citizen of the world: just a few weeks ago, Saie traveled to Haiti on a humanitarian trip with her church group, with the intent of helping others. Saie is an asset to the world around her. Great job, Saie!

Congratulations to you all! You will be invited to a brunch in your honor this Friday, April 16th. At Placerita, Character Counts!

Congratulations to the following students who have been selected by their team teachers for demonstrating the national Character Counts trait “Fairness”:

A.T.T.I.T.U.D.E- Cole Cogswell- Cole is an excellent example of Fairness. He never takes advantage of others and always plays by the rules. He is honest and considerate. Cole has been seen giving others encouragement as well as stepping aside so that others can receive rewards or go ahead of him. You are AWESOME Cole!!

Team Fusion- Madeline Kehl- An awesome young lady, Madeline is humble, bright, kind, and hardworking. She is fair when dealing with her peers and appreciates fairness in return. As a hobby, Madeline fences. She knows how to honor rules, traditions, and etiquette. She knows that being fair is part of being a responsible citizen and competitor. She is a model of fairness. Congratulations, Madeline.

Trailblazers- Suthawit Udomnopwitthayakul- Wit is an incredibly hardworking and responsible young man. He always strives to make sure his assignments are complete and turned in on time. Wit works well with other students and always ensures that all students are included. He is an awesome student and the Trailblazers are so glad to have him on their team. Nice job, Wit!

Team Excellence- Xavier Taylor- Xavier embodies a sense of fairness in all that he does and sets an example for his classmates on how to act in difficult situations. He is a wonderful young man who goes out of his way to help others in class and is probably the most polite kid on Team Excellence! He puts others before himself in class and is willing to put the spotlight on the rest of the class. Xavier has a gentle spirit and the unique ability to own up to his mistakes and learn from them. Thank you, Xavier!

Pacesetters- Sean Pimentel- Sean is a special guy in the classroom, knowing when to be respectful and when it’s time to have fun. The Pacesetters selected him for “fairness” because Mrs. Reid in the front office wrote a glowing report about Sean’s performance as student service. Sean exemplified “fairness” recently when he shared his knowledge of the school in his kind way to a new enrollee that Sean was assigned to show around, taking the time to give an in-depth tour and help the new student get comfortable here. Many students can only be open with their friends, but Sean was able to be kind and fair by sharing his knowledge with a perfect stranger. Sean’s behavior fits many of the pillars of character, and being fair seems to come naturally to him. Way to go, Sean.

Congratulations to you all! You will be invited to a brunch in your honor this Wednesday, March 3rd. Thank you for making Placerita a place where Character Counts!

She always says, “Thank you,” even when being handed a test. Chrissy Dal Pozzo is clearly a model of respect.

Pacesetters – Ryan Pineda – Ryan demonstrated Trustworthiness recently when he found a $5 bill outside of Ms. Ludlow’s classroom and turned it in to her rather than simply putting it in his wallet. Thank you for doing that, Ryan!
