Placerita Robotics

First Lego League brings 9 to 14 year old students together to build robots out of LEGOs and perform missions based on a yearly theme. They also create a research project on the theme as well. This year’s theme is called Food Factor. You can see more information by going to www.firstlegoleague.org.

Every year, our organization hosts a fall tournament and this year our event will be held at Savanna High School in Anaheim, California on Saturday November 12th from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. In order to get ready for the event, we need to begin putting together our core of referees, judges and volunteers.

  • Tournament Referees (4) – These volunteers will score the robot mission game
  • Technical Judges (8) – Some knowledge of engineering or robotics would help but we will pair people together appropriately.
  • Project Judges (8) – We would love to find a few from the food industry or studying culinary arts as experts.
  • Core Value Judges (8) – This group will judge how well teams work together.

We also need:

  • Table Resetters – 4
  • Pit Area Supervisors – 4
  • Information/Check-In – 3
  • Arena Supervision/Control – 4

If you know of anyone who would be willing to serve as a judge or volunteer (don’t worry, we’ll train you) Then please email Mr. Kass at pkass@hartdistrict.org. Most judges and volunteers will need to be at the tournament from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm but we can make  some exceptions if needed.

Thank you for all your help and support and we look forward to hearing from you.

Mr. Kass and Mrs. Marcia
